Forsyth Youth Ministry Intern Charged with Child Molestation

Sean E. Paul was employed as a Youth Minister at First Christian Church on Sawnee Drive in Cumming

A 28-year-old man that was serving as a youth minister at a Forsyth County church has been arrested by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and charged with child molestation.

According to Sheriff Duane K. Piper, Sean E. Paul, of Dawsonville, turned himself in at the Forsyth County Detention Center on last Friday.

Paul remains in the Forsyth County Detention Center with no bond set.

He has been charged with one count of child molestation, one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes, both of which are felonies. He is also charged with Electronically Furnishing Obscene Material to a Minor which is a misdemeanor.

Paul was employed as a Youth Minister at First Christian Church on Sawnee Drive in Cumming. He has been terminated from his position.

The investigation began as an outcry from the victim, Sheriff Piper said. The victim did become acquainted with Paul through the church.

The investigation is continuing. “We believe there could be additional victims,” Piper stated in a release.
