Woman Drowns at Lake Lanier Over Weekend
The drowning was the first of the summer at the lake.
Authorities have said that Becky Wallace, 55, of nearby Suwanee was the woman who drowned Saturday in a tubing-related accident at Lake Lanier.
According to 11alive.com, Wallace and three children were being pulled in a tube by a pontoon boat when the tube flipped. The accident occurred about 2:15 p.m. in the Shoal Creek area of the lake.
Wallace tried to help the children, but was not wearing a life jacket. The children were wearing flotation devices.
