Forsyth Closes Part of Sanders Road

Recent flooding might have damaged the road enough to create a need for repairs.

 

Recent flooding closed a portion of Sanders Road recently, and now Forsyth County officials have closed it again to figure out what repairs may be necessary.

The portion of Sanders Road between Mable Lake Road and Timberlake Trail is temporarily closed. As a result, Sanders Road between Mary Alice Park Road and Buford Dam Road is temporarily closed to through traffic, according to a release from Jodi B. Gardner, the county's director of Communications.

The road had reopened to traffic since the flooding, but this closure is needed to inspect the roadway. Forsyth officials don't know how long the closure will be needed.

"Motorists’ patience during this closure is appreciated," Gardner said in her release.
