Qualifying Begins for Cumming Candidates Aug. 26

Mayor and two council seats are up for grabs.

Those wishing to throw their hats in the ring for Cumming mayor and city council take note: Qualifying begins Aug. 26 at 8:30 a.m. and ends Aug. 30 at 4:30 p.m.

Seats up for grabs this year are those of Mayor H. Ford Gravitt and Councilmen Rupert Sexton and Quincy Holton.

It will cost $360 to run for mayor and $180 to run for a council seat.

The general election is Nov. 5.

Candidates must be at least 21, have lived in Cumming for at least a year, and be registered to vote in the city.
