Upscale Shopping the Smart Way

Here's your guide to the très chic consignment boutiques that put an end to the mass production blues you've been having from shopping at the department stores.

It has nothing to do with the economy--shopping at consignment shops is simply more exciting than being in a department store where everyone has access to a multitude of the same things.

If you haven't been to some of the area's top consignment shops, you're missing out on a whole new dimension of shopping euphoria.

Let's cut right to the hemline and get started so you can stop chasing ordinary style and get into something more unique. These consignment shops price their items to ensure that you'll come back again.

Trendy Trades, located at 598 Veterans Memorial Blvd Cumming, GA 30040 is ideal for teens and 20-somethings who know better than to pay full price for the ever-changing styles in the junior's department at the mall. "Don't be spendy, be trendy," is the motto at Trendy Trades.

This store carries an abundance of shoes, accessories and clothes from Aeropostale to Abercrombie and everything in between. You'll get twice as much clothing for less than half the price you'll typically pay in the retail shops. Bring along some of your old favorites too, because Trendy Trades buys their consignment selections on the spot, leaving you some extra spending money to complete your new wardrobe.

Circular racks are organized by size, style and color for casual pieces such as Free People, Mac and Jac or Banana Republic. Inset wall racks boast high-end designer names including Dolce Gabbana and Chloe, depending on what is trending at the moment. Well-lit, contemporary private dressing rooms with large mirrors treat customers to the what an upscale shopping experience should be.

The clothing quality and selection at Designer Consigner is unparalleled in our area and the staff and owner, Vicki Naso are clearly passionate about their work. "I love consignment shopping because it's a one stop shop for everything, from designer labels, accessories, unique pieces, the perfect shoe...to my weekend casual wear," says owner Vicki Naso.

Unique Boutique, located in a quaint yellow house at 134 Marietta Hwy. Roswell, GA 30075 is wall-to-wall style from dresses and boots to tops and accessories. This is where you'll find all the clothes you never knew you needed and the prices are unbeatable.

You'll come across everything from Joe's Jeans to Michael Stars and the staff is always at the ready to help you put pieces together. Racks are arranged by style and size and you'll want to check out every room in the house because each has its own style theme to suit shopper's individual preference.

These are but a few great boutiques in our area, but there's many more must-see consignment shops that make the revolving door of consignment shopping a fun way to save money, which is upscale in its own right. If only they were all located together in the same place for the ultimate shopping marathon. Luckily, there's an answer to that "dilemma" too!
